The World Lights It Up Blue for Autism Awareness


People all over the world participated in Light It Up Blue on April 2 to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day. See video from the UN panel discussion "Autism: Awareness to Action" and watch as Autism Speaks Co-founders Suzanne and Bob Wright take to the airwaves to discuss autism and raise awareness.


Prevalence of Autism Rises


The CDC updated its estimate of autism prevalence to 1 in 68 American children. Autism Speaks calls for immediate national action plan to address growing needs for services. Sesame Workshop Joins Forces with Autism Speaks to Develop Autism Initiative


Sesame Workshop announced that it is joining forces with Autism Speaks to help reduce the stigma surrounding children with autism. To kick off this initiative, Sesame Street's Abby Cadabby joined Autism Speaks co-founders Suzanne and Bob Wright on World Autism Awareness Day to light the Empire State Building blue. Light Up The Blues Concert now available on iTunes


The All-Star Light Up The Blues Concert is a documentary style concert film that captures 2013's benefit concert, an inspired evening of music featuring Crosby, Stills and Nash with musical guests Lucinda Williams, Rickie Lee Jones, Don Felder, Chris Stills and three gifted musicians on the autism spectrum, with Jack Black as the emcee. Sales of the films directly benefit Autism Speaks.
